Confirmation

In the Church of England the service of confirmation gives an opportunity for people to make a commitment to the life of Christian faith and to have that commitment 'confirmed' by the laying on of hands by the Bishop and by the prayers of the gathered congregation. For many this is a 'confirmation' of the promises that parents and godparents made on their behalf when they were very young. You can be confirmed at any age. In the past I have helped people to prepare for Confirmation who have been as young as ten or as old as eighty! I am wondering if there is anyone who would be interested in being confirmed this year? The Bishop of Lichfield, the Rt Revd Jonathan Gledhill, is coming to do a confirmation service in Barlaston on Sunday 24th June 2012 at 10.30am. Friday Fun Church

Games, activities, food, music and much more

After a great success for the children and young people of the church in our previous two ' Friday Fun Church' evenings in December of last year and January of this year, we are pleased to announce that these will now happen monthly, on the last Friday of each month with the next happening on:-

Friday 24th February between 6 and 8pm.

It would be great to see lots of new young faces in Church so that we can build on the buzzing atmosphere that we experienced on the previous two evenings. The children, helpers and leaders all came away having had a wonderful evening. One child was heard to say on leaving, 'Can we do this every night?"

There is no need to bring anything along, just yourself and a smile and possibly a friend if they would like to join us.
